Alan Fox Iridescent Scent Bottle 1991
Master glassmaker Alan Fox earned his place in Australian art-glass history by producing highly innovative glass objects for over four decades from 1974. Fox operated from his Western Australian studio, Fox Studio Glass, and trained several apprentice glassblowers who became renowned in their own right. Fox retired in 2012 and his pieces remain highly regarded. Made with a secret formula that reputedly contained Titanium, his iridescent works are especially prized and sought after by collectors.
This piece is a particularly stunning example, in iridescent blue, with hints of gold and deepening to purple at the base. The bottle features a trailed coil and a gorgeous pearlised effect around the rim. Both the bottle and stopper are in superb vintage condition with no chips or cracks.
The base is signed Alan Fox WA ‘91.
