Scheurich Amano Oxblood Torpedo Vases (pair) c1950-1970

$175.00

Founded by cousins in 1928, West German company Scheurich started producing ceramics for the domestic market in 1948. To appeal to a burgeoning mass market in the postwar years, they developed several popular colours and motifs which they applied across their range.

The deep oxblood glazes were particularly popular and remain highly sought after today. The elegantly simple torpedo shape of the 629 model, in production between 1950 and 1970, typifies the minimalist modern approach of the era.

In good vintage condition.
