Alan Fox Iridescent Oil Burner with Deep Blue Applied Coil c1996

$150.00
SOLD

Master glassmaker Alan Fox earned his place in Australian art-glass history by producing highly innovative glass objects for over four decades from 1974. Fox operated from his Western Australian studio, Fox Studio Glass, and trained several apprentice glassblowers who became renowned in their own right. Fox retired in 2012 and his pieces remain highly regarded. It is rumoured he added Titanium to create his signature iridescent blue pieces, which are especially prized.

This gorgeous oil burner is a lovely example, in an iridescent mid blue. The surface has a delightful marbled appearance, with a deep blue coil on the top half. The burner has never been used and features a brass fitting and lovely clean wick ready to go!

The base is signed A Fox WA 1996.
