Master glassmaker Alan Fox earned his place in Australian art-glass history by producing highly innovative glass objects for over four decades from 1974. Fox operated from his Western Australian studio, Fox Studio Glass, and trained several apprentice glassblowers who became renowned in their own right. Fox retired in 2012 and his pieces remain highly regarded. He made a select number of pieces with 24ct gold inclusions, which are especially prized.
This substantial vase is a particularly stunning example, in translucent turquoise blue glass with gold throughout the body, and particularly highlighted around the neck of the vase. The vase is in perfect as-new condition.
